A recent study published in the Omega Journal of Death and Dying compared the outcomes of mediumship and traditional therapy.  The study participants actually experienced more healing and grief alleviation after a mediumship session. 

"ADCs [After Death Communications] have been repeatedly demonstrated to diminish or even entirely alleviate grief," the authors said.

Whereas traditional grief counseling focuses on separation and moving on, mediumship focuses on your continued connection with your loved ones.
